“PLANT:” MAKE YOUR LAWN LOOK BEAUTIFUL THIS FALL WITH LESS WATER, LESS WORK AND LESS WASTE
Charlotte, NC – Don’t waste time and energy bagging those leaves this fall. Use them to make your own compost to spread around your yard.
Mecklenburg County’s Piedmont Landscape and Naturescape Training – PLANT – program offers in-depth information on maintaining your yard in a manner that’s environmentally friendly, aesthetically pleasing, low-maintenance and low budget. Classes are scheduled throughout the fall at a variety of locations around Mecklenburg County.
Learn the basics of composting, grasscycling, toxicity reduction, Southern xeriscaping, soil testing and habitat. For only a few dollars, you receive four hours of hands-on instruction, a how-to manual and wire compost bin.
Register online at Wipe Out Waste(www.wipeoutwaste.com). All Saturday PLANT classes are from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Dress comfortably. Bring a bag lunch and plenty to drink.
